Indo Tech Transformers Limited is a well-established participant in India’s transformer manufacturing industry, producing both power and distribution transformers with capacities of up to 100 MVA and 220 kV. Over time, the company has also completed projects for international markets, particularly in North America, including mobile and substation transformers.
The company has developed a strong presence among Southern State Electricity Boards, including those in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Kerala. It has also built expertise in specialized transformer segments such as wind energy transformers, fail-safe systems, and amorphous metal core transformers.
Its customer base spans multiple segments, including state electricity boards, EPC contractors, corporate clients, and international buyers. Key EPC clients include Larsen & Toubro, ABB, and Reliance Energy, while its corporate clientele features organizations such as the Taj Group of Hotels, Lakshmi Machine Works, TI Group, and the Sanmar Group.
Since its inception, the company has delivered more than 55,000 transformers of varying capacities (up to 60 MVA) to over 3,000 customers across India. In the past eight years, it has expanded its export footprint to countries such as Nigeria, Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom, the United States, Ghana, and Canada.
To remain competitive in a dynamic global environment, the company has both developed in-house technologies and entered into technical collaborations with international firms, including Honeywell Inc. (formerly Allied Signal, USA) and MobileSource Industries Inc.
The company operates three manufacturing facilities—two located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and one in Palakkad, Kerala. Together, these plants can produce approximately 500 to 600 transformers per month, with a combined installed capacity of 2,450 MVA annually.
