How to trade in ICICI Direct?

To trade in ICICI Direct, you need a 3-in-1 account with ICICI Bank. Once you have the account setup, you can use one of the online trading software to trade in ICICI Direct. ICICI provides a mobile app, website and installable trading software for free.

To buy/sell stocks, you have to first allocate (or block) funds to your trading account from your bank account for trading. You can now place buy/sell orders by filling an order form. Once the order is placed, you could check the order status in 'Order Book' or 'Trade Book'. Once the order is complete, the shares you bought are transferred to your demat account in 2 days and money gets deducted from your bank account the same day of order execution.

Steps to trade with ICICIDirect Website

1. Log in to icicidirect.com website.
2. In the left navigation bar, expand 'Equity' and click 'Allocate Funds'
3. Add funds to 'Secondary Market Equity, ETF' and click Submit.
4. In the left navigation bar, expand 'Equity' and click 'Place Order'
5. Enter the order detail and confirm.
6. In the left navigation bar, expand 'Equity' and click 'Order Book'
7. Check the status of your order.

The high-level process of trading using the ICICIDirect Mobile app and trade terminal is the same as the website. You have to log in, allocate funds and place an order.

You can also use Call & Trade services of the company wherein you can place orders by calling ICICI Direct. The service is open between 08:30 AM - 06:00 PM (Monday to Friday). Extra charges may apply for orders placed through call & trade.
