How to close the Upstox account online?

You can close your Upstox account online using the Upstox mobile app or through the website. The process is simple and quick. It takes 7 days to close an account with Upstox.

Steps for closing Upstox account online:

1. Log in to your Upstox account.
2. Go to the Account closure section as per below:
   • In the old version of the app, Click on Profile Icon >> My Account >> "Account closure"
   • In the updated version of app, click on your Avatar >> Account tab >> Profile >> View All (placed next to Account) >> Menu >> Account >> Account Closure
3. Click on the "Close account" tab that redirects to the confirmation page with a link.
4. Click on the link to confirm the closing of the account.
5. After clicking the link, an "Account Closure Request" form will appear.
6. Choose thereason for closing your accountfrom the dropdown. If Other, mention the reason in the text.
7. Click on "Close account".

Note:

• There should be holdings in the Demat account or a negative balance in your trading account.
• Square off any open trade position.
• Any funds remaining in your account get transferred to the primary bank account on settlement.
