You can close your Upstox account online using the Upstox mobile app or through the website. The process is simple and quick. It takes 7 days to close an account with Upstox.
Steps for closing Upstox account online:
- Log in to your Upstox account.
- Go to the Account closure section as per below:
- In the old version of the app, Click on Profile Icon >> My Account >> "Account closure"
- In the updated version of app, click on your Avatar >> Account tab >> Profile >> View All (placed next to Account) >> Menu >> Account >> Account Closure
- Click on the "Close account" tab that redirects to the confirmation page with a link.
- Click on the link to confirm the closing of the account.
- After clicking the link, an "Account Closure Request" form will appear.
- Choose thereason for closing your accountfrom the dropdown. If Other, mention the reason in the text.
- Click on "Close account".
Note:
- There should be holdings in the Demat account or a negative balance in your trading account.
- Square off any open trade position.
- Any funds remaining in your account get transferred to the primary bank account on settlement.
