How to close Kotak securities account?

Kotak securities account can only be closed through the offline process by following the below steps:

1. Visit Kotak securities website.
2. Go to Help Section and click on forms.
3. Click on Common Ac Closing -Individual-Resident.
4. Fill the account closure form with the account holder's name, address, DP ID, Trading Code and Contact No.
5. Submit the form, unused Delivery Instruction slips (DIS), along with KYC documents (ID and address proof) to the nearest branch.

It takes around 7-10 working days to close Kotak securities account after form submission.

Before initiating the account closure, ensure the below points are taken care of:

• Settle all the payments before closing the account.
• The Demat account must not have any holdings. If you have any shares in your account, you need to transfer them to another Demat account. In such cases, you need to submit a filled DIS and the original stamped and signed client master list (CML) of the target DP along with the account closure form.
• In the case of a joint account, all account holders must sign the closure form.
