Yes. You can apply for an IPO in the High Net Worth Individual (HNI) category, which falls under the Non-Institutional Investor (NII) portion. You just need to select ‘NII’ as the investor category in the IPO application form.

  1. Mainboard IPOs:
    • An HNI is any investor who bids for more than ₹2 lakhs worth of shares.
    • NIIs are classified as:
      • Small NII (sNII): ₹2 lakhs – ₹10 lakhs
      • Big NII (bNII): More than ₹10 lakhs
  2. SME IPOs (effective 1 July 2025):
    • An investor applying for 3 lots or more is treated as an NII.
    • NIIs are classified as:
      • Small NII (sNII): 3 lots up to applications valued at ₹10 lakhs
      • Big NII (bNII): Applications valued above ₹10 lakhs
