Pros:
Cons:
SMC Global MTF is suitable for investors looking to take leveraged delivery positions in Group I equity stocks and who are comfortable with the pledge and OTP-based authentication process. It aligns well with existing SMC Global clients who prefer a full-service broker offering a wide network and personalised support, and who want MTF as part of a broader wealth management approach.
SMC Global MTF (Margin Trading Facility) is a product that allows eligible clients to buy Group I equity stocks listed on NSE and BSE by paying only a fraction of the total trade value upfront. SMC funds the remaining amount, and the client repays with interest at 0.049% per day on the outstanding funded amount. The purchased stocks are pledged with SMC as collateral until the position is closed.
SMC Global charges interest at 0.049% per day on the outstanding funded amount (the amount SMC has lent you). This works out to approximately 18% per annum. Interest is calculated daily from the date of purchase until the position is fully squared off or settled.
SMC Global MTF is available for Group I equity stocks listed on NSE and BSE — these are the most liquid stocks that are also part of the F&O segment or meet SEBI's criteria for MTF eligibility. The specific list of approved stocks is maintained by SMC and updated periodically. ETFs and stocks outside the Group I category are not eligible for MTF under SMC.
